I am in Seattle now but left this photo in because it reminds me of a happy moment when a friend who was passing by took this photo spontaneously
Greetings,

There is so much going on that it is hard to follow. Imagine what it feels like being bombarded by missiles for 23 days.

Here is a potpourri of somewhat connected thoughts.

My nephew who was in the process of being released from the IDF had been called back because of the war. When you have people you love in the war then the war becomes personal. It is no longer something that happens to someone else, it is in your life.

History shmistory: In the 19th century we were trying to assimilate and be like everyone else. This did not end up very well as history attests to. Then we said: lets have our own place and it still seems killing Jewish people (now living in Israel) is an obsession with millions of people around the globe,  so.. what is a Jew to do???

I am always looking for simple ways to think, I do not like having my brain cluttered with a million thoughts. So here is one: What if someone's life purpose was killing you personally and was using a child to protect himself?! What would you and I do? Is it any different for Israel ?!

We all think we are right. But does it lead anywhere? Maybe we can let go of the need to be right and focus on what works? What will bring the most benefit to all? Quite an impossible idea to contemplate these days.

So here is a joke about being right. The president goes to visit the jail to find inmates to give amnesty to. Every inmate he meets claims they are innocent except for one inmate who said he was there because of the wrong he committed.

The president immediately decreed that this inmate must be released to protect all the other pure innocent prisoners from his bad influence.

If any of you would like to express their sentiments towards Israel and Israelis at this time you may send it to me and I will pass it on.

 In peace

Funny Israel
Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. This way they will be a mile away with no shoes.
Eli Harari, A friend from Israel is writing
This morning at 2:30 am we were awakened by a siren, a missile was making its way to Tel Aviv from Gaza- what a strange, strange feeling, and then back to bed realizing that another million people had to run for cover with their small children- Now tell me, someone, who does things like that? normal people or blood thirsty freaks who glorify death?

I have seen the face of Evil and lies and deceit and cruelty of Hamas and then right next to that I have seen the face of hypocrisy and ignorance of a fake world that is a creature of comfort and fear, who condemn my nation and me for atrocities committed against the Palestinians...really... can't you all bloody see that they kill their own people, are you all so afraid to look in case the Muslim in your countries will come after you?

I felt the pain of dying young soldiers who gave their life to protect meŚ„ I felt abandoned by my so called friends around the world who did not even bother to write a small note to ask how I am? and they are so called illumined developing people...it is amazing how segregated people make themselves by simply not caring...

I have seen how I react under pressure and I was pleased
and...I became extremely proud to be part of this nation, a Jew and Israeli, which for a long time I wasn't clear with...I only hope that Israelis will continue to unite after it is over...this time not united because oh Hamas or of other outside threat but because they truly value each other's life...I can only guarantee myself in that!
