Israel Ramble letters
Dear friend,

For all the many encouraging responses I thank thee much. I am still interested hearing from you to know what works for you? What more would you like to hear about? And also asking (begging, cajoling, coaxing, pleading etc..) your help in forwarding Israel Ramble letters to your interested friends. Today's photos and videos are featuring the Hula Valley north of the kineret lake. Enjoy.

Personal stories - Donkey business
Boaz Thumbnail

I was the gardener! From a young age we have been groomed for work. As children we had a Children Animal Farm called meshek yeladim, where we tended ducks, we had a chicken hatchery and all kind of other animals I do not recall, monkeys  sometimes.

But riding the donkey was the real thing, the precursor for eventually driving a tractor, and it was not simple, you had to know how to handle the donkey lest he will kick you in the face, you had to know how to put on his harness and rains safely, how to tie the wagon to the donkey, how to control the beast, and then, when all was in place you will ride on the jalopy kind of  a wagon behind the donkey and shout: Dee-yo, Dee-yo until you reach the kibbutz kitchen to collect dry leftover bread for the animals, and then you will ride all the way back, a long trip, I think it took 20 minutes each direction.

The thing about the donkey was, he really did not like being confined, so he will sooner or later escape his enclosure, his cage, and roam freely into the field. That was when the drama begun. We had to muster as many of us children as we could to run after the jubilant donkey, to try to get him back into his abode. That was our kind of entertainment in those days, before TV and before movies being a common place.

To face the donkey face to face, that was scary, and after we surrounded him, there will have to be a courageous child who will make the final move and actually catch the beast by his harness. I always left that task to the older and stronger children, the donkey seemed just too much of a risk to me, safety above all.

The land of Israel -The way it all started
In this vedio, Yair Lapid, who is quite a popular persona in Israel, previously a TV host, a journalist, a writer and a boxer, now is entering the political arena, "to change the public conversation", introducing Israel in its inception, and the spirit of the pioneers, what it was like then, click to watch

Israel creative and innovative forces - A hawk robot
Howk
This is a real hawk (click on it to watch the video)
Israel is plentiful with creative people in all sorts of ways, in this youtube you can watch a hawk robot that was built to scare away birds away from the fishing ponds so the farmers do not have to shoot at the birds. I think it is around the Hula Valley. Relax and watch. It is in Hebrew and some English, and the view of the Hula valley makes it worthwhile watching.

The funny corner
A friend of mine told me yesterday: Do not to be so apologetic
   I said.. I am sorry.

Food for thought

A wise man once told me something I will never forget; it is better trying 10 different things and have a success in 4 of them rather than trying only 2 and succeed in 1.
